The challenging adventure combines an epic Sahara desert trekking experience through the Draa Valley with an ascent of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. During the desert trek, our 4×4 support team transports camping equipment, food, water and luggage between campsites, allowing participants to walk with only their daypacks.

Your Itinerary

Day 1

Marrekech - Ouarzazate

Once you have arrived at Marrekech airport you will be welcomed by our in country team before starting the journey to cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass at approximately 2,260 m, continuing toward Ouarzazate.

Upon arrival, we will settle into the accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

OUARZAZATE → DRAA VALLEY → ZAOUÏAT SIDI SALEH → TIDIRI

​​After breakfast, we leave Ouarzazate and travel through the Draa Valley toward Zagora and the desert trekking starting point near Zaouïat Sidi Saleh.

Upon arrival, we meet our desert support team and prepare for the first walking stage.

The 4×4 vehicles transport the group’s luggage, camping equipment, food, water and supplies, while participants carry only their personal daypacks.

The first trekking stage is intentionally short, allowing everyone to settle into the desert environment before reaching our first campsite near Tidiri.

Dinner is prepared by our camp team and served at the campsite.

Desert Camp
Day 3

TIDIRI → ERG SAHEL DUNES

After breakfast at camp, we begin our first long trekking stage through the diverse landscapes of the Draa Desert.

The route crosses sand dunes, hamada and open reg terrain toward Erg Sahel. Along the way, the group will experience the changing scenery of the Sahara, from rocky desert plains to beautiful stretches of sand.

Lunch is prepared and served along the route, allowing everyone to rest before continuing the afternoon stage toward the dunes of Erg Sahel.

Our 4×4 support team handles the transportation of all camping equipment and supplies to the next campsite.

Upon arrival, the group has time to relax before dinner under the desert sky.

Desert Camp
Day 4

ERG SAHEL → BONOU DUNES

Today we have a full day of trekking through changing Saharan scenery, combining sand dunes, open plateaus and dry desert terrain.

After breakfast, we leave Erg Sahel and continue toward the Bonou dunes.

Lunch is prepared and served along the way before the group continues the afternoon stage toward the next campsite.

Meanwhile, our 4×4 support team transfers all camping equipment and supplies to the designated overnight location.

The evening is spent at our desert bivouac near the Bonou dunes, where the group enjoys dinner and a peaceful night in the Sahara.

Desert Camp
Day 5

BONOU DUNES → LAHNICHAT → M’HAMID DUNES

Our final full day of desert trekking takes us across broad Saharan landscapes, alternating between sand dunes and open reg terrain.

The route passes through Lahnichat and reaches a desert well used for water resupply, where we stop for lunch and a rest.

In the afternoon, we continue toward the dunes near M’Hamid, where our support team prepares the final desert camp.

This last evening in the Sahara offers the group an opportunity to enjoy the desert atmosphere before returning to the High Atlas Mountains the following day.

Desert Camp
Day 6

M’HAMID → ZAGORA → OUARZAZATE → IMLIL

After breakfast, we begin our final short walking stage from the desert campsite toward the meeting point with our vehicles.

We then leave the Sahara and begin the transfer to Imlil, travelling through the Draa Valley, Zagora, Ouarzazate and the Tizi n’Tichka Pass.

The journey takes us back across the High Atlas Mountains toward Imlil, the starting point of our Mount Toubkal ascent.

Upon arrival, the group settles into one of our guesthouse partners in Imlil for dinner and overnight accommodation.

The evening is dedicated to resting and preparing for the two-day mountain ascent.

Day 7

IMLIL → SIDI CHAMHAROUCH → TOUBKAL REFUGE (3,200 M)

After breakfast at the guesthouse, we meet our mountain guiding team and prepare for the first stage of the Mount Toubkal ascent.

The trek begins from Imlil at approximately 1,740 m, following the mountain trail through Aremd and continuing toward Sidi Chamharouch at approximately 2,400 m.

We stop for lunch before continuing the gradual ascent through the valley toward Toubkal Refuge, situated at approximately 3,200 m.

Upon arrival at the refuge, the group has time to rest, enjoy a warm dinner and prepare for the summit attempt the following morning.

Day 8

TOUBKAL REFUGE → MOUNT TOUBKAL SUMMIT (4,167 M) → IMLIL-Marrakech

Today we have an early wake-up and light breakfast at the refuge before beginning the summit ascent.

Following our mountain guide, we climb toward Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in Morocco and North Africa, reaching an altitude of 4,167 m.

The ascent typically takes 3–4 hours, depending on the group’s pace and mountain conditions.

After reaching the summit and enjoying the panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains, we descend to the refuge for lunch and a short rest.

We then continue our descent through Sidi Chamharouch and Aremd to reach Imlil in the late afternoon.

This is the longest and most physically demanding walking day of the combined itinerary, with approximately 20 km of mountain trekking and a significant descent from the summit to Imlil.

We then travel to Marrekech where you will have free time to relax and enjoy the city. Dinner tonight will be at your own expense to provide flexibility for your arrangements.

Transfer to the Airport

Today we bid you farewell as you end your epic adventure and are transferred to the Airport for your flight home
